Why this journey

Walk from cultivated valleys into open mountain country

This trek begins among the villages, gardens and kasbah landscapes of the Dadès region before moving into the quieter terrain between Dadès and the M’Goun foothills. Each day changes the scale of the landscape: fields become gorges, gorges open into plateau, and the route eventually descends towards the sculpted formations around Dadès.

The cultural side of the journey comes from moving through places where people live and work rather than scheduling performances. Where an overnight or tea with local families is possible, it depends on their welcome, the season and current circumstances.

Our story

Before you travel

A few practical details

  • This route combines village paths, gorge walking and higher plateau terrain. Conditions underfoot vary from day to day.
  • Rose flowering is seasonal and is not presented as a guaranteed feature of the journey.
  • Any stay or visit with local families depends on consent, availability and current circumstances.
  • A canyoning variation near the Dadès formations may be possible only with the right conditions and suitable specialist support; it is not part of the standard itinerary.
  • Walking duration, luggage support and camp arrangements are specified in the final proposal.
Is this trek mainly about the Valley of Roses?

No. The broader focus is the Dadès and M’Goun landscape. Seasonal rose cultivation is part of the regional context, but the journey is designed around walking, villages, gorges and plateau country.

Is the nomad overnight guaranteed?

No. A locally hosted night depends on invitation, season, access and family availability. If it is not appropriate or available, a supported camp is used instead.

How demanding is the trek?

It is a multi-day walking journey over varied terrain. We review your walking experience before confirming the route and can discuss pacing or additional rest time.

Can we extend the trek into the Sahara?

Yes. Instead of returning directly to Marrakech, the journey can continue east or south into the desert region.
