Why this journey

From northern Morocco to the dunes of the Sahara

One of the things we enjoy most about Morocco is how much it changes as you travel. Tangier and Tetouan carry northern and Andalusian influences, Chefchaouen sits among the Rif Mountains, and Fes has a rhythm of its own, shaped by centuries of learning and craftsmanship. Further south, cedar forests give way to palm groves, rocky valleys and finally the dunes of the Sahara.

This is a private journey designed to connect those places in a way that makes sense. Rather than arriving at the desert just for a photograph and leaving the next morning, we allow two nights in the Merzouga region. On the road to Marrakech, we take time for Todra, Dadès, the Roses Valley and the fortified settlements of the south. We explain the history and local traditions along the way, and leave room to enjoy the journey at your own pace.

Signature moments

What gives this journey its character

Morocco’s northern character

Explore Tangier, Tetouan and Chefchaouen and see how the region’s history and setting differ from the rest of the country.

Fes, a living medina

Spend a full day with a licensed local guide understanding the old city's neighborhoods, crafts and historic landmarks.

More time in the Sahara

Stay two nights around Merzouga, with time for local villages, oasis landscapes and a camel experience in the dunes.

The Amazigh valleys

Continue through Todra, Dadès, the Roses Valley, Skoura and Aït Ben Haddou before crossing the High Atlas to Marrakech.

Day 1Welcome to TangierTangier airport or port → Tangier

We meet you at Tangier airport, port or your accommodation and begin with a private transfer. Depending on your arrival, discover the kasbah, old medina and the meeting of the Atlantic and Mediterranean influences that make Tangier different from other Moroccan cities. The first day remains flexible after your journey.

Day 2Tetouan and the blue town of ChefchaouenTangier → Tetouan → Chefchaouen

Leave Tangier and travel toward Tetouan, where the historic medina reflects strong Andalusian influences. Continue into the Rif Mountains to Chefchaouen. Day 6Discover the Sahara beyond the dunesMerzouga and nearby oasis villages

We dedicate this day to the desert rather than another long drive. Explore the surrounding villages, oasis landscapes and the culture of communities living at the edge of the Sahara. A camel experience is arranged at a suitable time, usually when the light is softer. We discuss whether your second night is in a desert camp or hotel before confirming the trip.
