Why this journey

Discover the different sides of Morocco

Morocco is not one landscape or one culture. The rhythm changes as you leave the Atlantic coast for the northern hills, cross the Middle Atlas towards the Sahara, and continue through the Amazigh valleys to Marrakech. This journey gives each region its own place rather than treating it as a stop on a long transfer.

Alongside the well-known cities and monuments, we make room for the everyday Morocco: traditional crafts, villages and palm groves, local food and the stories behind the places you visit. Your driver travels with your private party, and local guides join at the specified cities. We adapt the pace to the people travelling.

Signature moments

What gives this journey its character

Northern heritage

Discover Rabat, blue Chefchaouen and Fes with a mixture of guided history and time to explore.

Two nights by the dunes

Stay in the Merzouga region long enough to explore oasis life and enjoy a camel experience without arriving and leaving on the same day.

Amazigh south

Travel through Dadès, Roses Valley, Skoura and Aït Ben Haddou with context about the places and people.

Marrakech and the Atlantic

Explore Marrakech with a local guide, then finish with the fishing port and medina of Essaouira.

Day by day

Time to see. Time to be here.

A suggested rhythm to shape together. Where days are grouped, the detailed daily arrangements are developed in your proposal.

Day 1Arrival in CasablancaCasablanca Airport → Casablanca

We welcome you at Casablanca airport and transfer you privately to your accommodation. Depending on your arrival, there may be time for a gentle introduction to the Atlantic city. We keep this first day flexible after your flight.

Your stay
Casablanca
Day 2Casablanca and RabatCasablanca → Rabat

Begin with Casablanca’s architecture and the Hassan II Mosque, where an interior visit depends on the visitor timetable. Continue along the Atlantic coast to Rabat for an introduction to Morocco’s capital and its historic landmarks.

Your stay
Rabat
Day 3Rabat to ChefchaouenRabat → Chefchaouen

Visit the Kasbah of the Udayas and Hassan Tower area where timing permits, then travel north through changing countryside to the Rif Mountains. Arrive in Chefchaouen for an unhurried first walk through the blue medina.

Your stay
Chefchaouen
Day 4Chefchaouen, Volubilis and FesChefchaouen → Volubilis → Fes

Enjoy the mountain-town atmosphere before heading towards Fes. Visit the Roman site of Volubilis if the day’s timing allows. This is a longer road day; Meknes can be a brief stop or moved to a customized itinerary rather than rushing both sites.

Your stay
Fes
Day 5The historic medina of FesFes

Explore Fes with a licensed local guide. Walk its traditional quarters and markets, discover artisan skills and learn about the city’s long history of scholarship, trade and craftsmanship. Lunch and free time follow your interests.

Day 6Middle Atlas and the Ziz ValleyFes → Ifrane → Midelt → Ziz Valley → Merzouga

Leave Fes for the Middle Atlas, passing Ifrane, cedar-forest landscapes and Midelt. Further south, the Ziz Valley opens into palm groves and arid mountains. Arrive in the Merzouga area after a substantial travel day.

Your stay
Merzouga region
Day 7A full day in the SaharaMerzouga and surrounding villages

Your stay
Merzouga region
Day 8Todra Gorge and Dadès ValleyMerzouga → Rissani → Todra Gorge → Dadès Valley

Travel west through Rissani and the southern oasis region to the walls of Todra Gorge. Continue to Dadès, where villages, cultivated valleys and dramatic rock formations introduce another side of Morocco’s south.

Your stay
Dadès Valley
Day 9Roses Valley, Skoura and OuarzazateDadès → Roses Valley → Skoura → Ouarzazate

Follow the valley roads through the Roses Valley and the palm groves of Skoura, stopping at accessible kasbahs and villages. Rose cultivation is seasonal, but the region’s Amazigh heritage and landscapes can be appreciated throughout the year.

Your stay
Ouarzazate
Day 10Aït Ben Haddou and the High AtlasOuarzazate → Aït Ben Haddou → Marrakech

Visit the fortified settlement of Aït Ben Haddou and learn about the routes that connected the south with Marrakech. Cross the High Atlas Mountains, allowing time for viewpoints and breaks according to road and weather conditions.

Your stay
Marrakech
Day 11Marrakech with a local guideMarrakech

Discover Marrakech with a licensed local guide: its historical neighborhoods, palace architecture, traditional crafts and souks. We explain the history behind the places while leaving space for questions, lunch and time at your own pace. Specific admissions are confirmed in your proposal.

Your stay
Marrakech
Day 12Marrakech to EssaouiraMarrakech → Essaouira

Travel west to the Atlantic coast. In Essaouira, discover the fishing port, old medina and woodworking traditions, and enjoy time by the ocean. The relaxed coastal atmosphere offers a different ending to the journey.

Your stay
Essaouira
Day 13Return to CasablancaEssaouira → Casablanca

Return to Casablanca by private road transfer for your hotel or airport drop-off. This is a long transfer day. We recommend a late flight, and for earlier departures we advise adding a Casablanca overnight rather than promising a rushed airport connection.

Our story

Before you travel

A few things to know before you go

  • A late departure flight is strongly recommended on Day 13; we can revise the itinerary for earlier flights.
  • Mosque interiors are not generally open to non-Muslim visitors; Hassan II Mosque visits follow its official visitor schedule.
  • Accommodation details and prices in EUR are confirmed individually. Prices supplied by Morocco Travelogue already include its chosen margin.
