Itinerary
You'll start your journey at 8 am with a pick-up from your Riad/Hotel in Marrakech. Your driver and guide will take you through the Tizi-N-Tichka pass, the highest pass in Morocco, and across the Atlas Mountains. You'll be treated to stunning landscapes and colorful Berber villages along the way. You'll make stops to take in the sights and capture some fantastic photos.
Your first destination is the UNESCO World Heritage site of Ait Benhaddou. This historical kasbah has been used as a backdrop in films such as Gladiator, Indiana Jones, and Lawrence of Arabia. Your guide will take you on a walk through the traditional Moroccan architecture of the kasbah and you'll have lunch at one of the local restaurants.
Next, you'll continue southeast to the Dades Valley and the city of roses, passing through the Skoura palmary. You'll spend the night in a hotel in the Dades Valley, with dinner included. Don't miss this opportunity to discover the beauty of the Atlas Mountains and the charming Dades Valley.
Start your day with a delicious breakfast at your hotel in Dades valley, before setting off on a journey through the colorful Berber villages of the region. After a 60 km drive, you'll arrive in Tinghir, where you'll have the opportunity to visit a cooperative of skilled artisans who create beautiful handmade Berber carpets. From there, you'll head to the stunning Todra Gorges for a short walk along the canyons, which are popular with rock climbers.
Next, it's off to Erg Chebbi in the Sahara desert, with a stop for lunch along the way in Erfoud. Once you arrive at the sand dunes, you'll have some time to prepare for your camel trek and sunset viewing experience. After a short ride, you'll arrive at a nomad tent in the middle of the desert, where you can enjoy dinner and traditional drum music around the fire. Spend the night in the tent, enjoying the peace and quiet of the Sahara.
After watching the sun rise over the dunes of Erg Chebbi, enjoy a hearty breakfast in the camp. Return to the hotel for a quick shower before setting off to explore the Saharan town of Rissani, with a stop at the old market. Continue on to Agdez and take a break to photograph the stunning Draa valley. Travel north to Ouarzazate, passing through the small Atlas Mountains. Spend the night in a comfortable Riad in Ouarzazate, with dinner and breakfast included.
On our last day, we will take you to the old Kasbah in Ouarzazate, also known as the Hollywood of Africa. Here, you will have the opportunity to visit the cinema sets and studios located in the city. After exploring the Kasbah, we will visit the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Ait Benhaddou, which has been used as a backdrop for numerous films. You will have the chance to take a walk and explore the traditional Moroccan architecture of the Kasbah. We will then continue our journey back to Marrakech, stopping for lunch in a local restaurant in the Atlas Mountains along the way. Your driver will drop you off at your Riad or Hotel in Marrakech.
