Itinerary
Explore the beauty of nature on a lifetime adventure in the Moroccan desert. Our 3-day, 2-night tour from Marrakech begins with a pick-up at 7:00 am from your Riad or any preferred location. We'll cross the Tizi N Tichka pass of the High Atlas Mountains, admiring the stunning Berber villages and mountainous roads as we make our way to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Ait Ben Haddou. This fortified Ksar, with its breathtaking Kasbahs, has served as the backdrop for numerous movies. With a local guide, we'll take a walk across the river to discover the Ksar and climb to the top of the hill, feeling as though we're strolling through the Middle Ages as we take in the stunning views of the Ounila river valley and the snowcapped Atlas mountains.
After lunch, we'll continue on to Ouarzazate, also known as the "Hollywood of Morocco." Here, we'll have some free time to visit the studio and snap photos of the impressive monuments. Our journey will then take us to the Dades valley via Skoura and the long valley of roses (in bloom in late May). Upon arrival in Boumalne Dades, we'll turn onto a secondary road heading up through the Dades gorges, where we'll be treated to breathtaking rock formations and fortified Kasbahs against the backdrop of the sunset. After a stop at the canyons for a drink or to simply take in the majestic scenery, we'll head to our hotel for dinner and a comfortable overnight stay.
Continue your desert adventure with a traditional breakfast before hitting the road on our 3-day, 2-night tour to Merzouga. We'll take the road of 1000 Kasbahs, driving through the vibrant Berber villages of the Dades valley to reach Tinghir and its stunning 15km valley of date palms. The road to the Todra Gorge is dotted with green palms and Berber villages, where we'll go on a trek along the 300m high canyons.
Next, we'll make our way to the Erg Chebbi dunes in the Merzouga Sahara Desert, stopping for lunch in Tinjdad or Touroug (depending on your appetite). Upon arriving at the golden dunes, camels will be waiting to take you on a beautiful ride to the camp, where you can watch the sunset over the sand dunes. You'll be greeted with tea and smiles upon arriving at the camp, where you'll be shown to your private tent with a suite bathroom and shower. After a delicious dinner, the staff and cameleers will provide musical entertainment around the campfire under the starry night sky.
Wake up early to enjoy the breathtaking sunrise over the highest dunes of Erg Chebbi in Merzouga, a highlight of your desert experience. After breakfast in the camp, you'll pack up and return to Marrakech via camel or 4x4, leaving the dunes behind. Along the way, we'll drive through Alnif, Tazarine, the Draa valley, Agdez, and Ouarzazate, where we'll have some free time for lunch. As we continue to Marrakech, we'll cross the Atlas Mountains and pass through picturesque Berber villages. Your adventure will come to an end with a drop-off at your accommodation.
