Itinerary

Explore the rich history and culture of Morocco on a 7-day desert tour from Fes. The tour starts with an early pick-up from the airport or your accommodation in Fes and takes you on a journey through the imperial cities of Menes and Meknes, where you will visit ancient monuments such as Bab Al-Mansour and the Moulay Ismail Mausoleum. The tour also includes a visit to the well-preserved Roman ruins of Volubilis, recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. After strolling through the ruins, we will head north to Chefchaouen, also known as the "Blue City" due to its buildings and alleyways painted in blue. we depart early from Fes to visit the ancient Roman ruins of Volubilis, a World Heritage Site recognized by UNESCO. The well-preserved ruins are a fascinating glimpse into the past, with beautiful mosaics and ancient pillars and archways scattered throughout. Next, we head north through Ouazzane to Chefchaouen, also known as the "Blue City" for its blue-painted buildings and alleyways. This charming mountain town is a popular tourist destination known for its unique architecture and beautiful scenery. After some free time to explore, we continue on to the imperial city of Rabat, the current capital of Morocco. Here, you will visit the highlights of the city including the Hassan Tower, the Mausoleum of Mohammed V and the Kasbah of Oudaya. Overnight stay in a hotel.

Known as the economic center and largest city in Morocco, Casablanca offers a diverse array of cultural and historical experiences. Our first stop will be the magnificent Hassan I mosque, the second largest mosque in the continent. Next, we'll take a stroll along the picturesque Casablanca Corniche and admire the beautiful ocean views.

In the afternoon, we'll leave the coastal city and head inland to Marrakech, one of the imperial cities of Morocco. The "Red City" is known for its rich history and vibrant culture, and offers plenty of opportunities for exploration and discovery. After checking into your hotel or Riad, you'll have some free time to wander around and explore the famous Jemaa El-Fna square. Overnight stay in Marrakech.

Explore the vibrant city of Marrakech, known as the "Red City." On the third day of our tour, we will take a full-day guided tour of Marrakech's most iconic sights. We'll start with a visit to the Bahia Palace, a 19th-century palace known for its intricate tilework and ornate gardens. We'll then move on to the Saadian Tombs, a burial ground of the Saadian dynasty that was hidden for centuries before being rediscovered in 1917. Next, we'll explore the Ben Youssef Quranic mosque, one of the oldest and largest in Marrakech. Our local guide will take us on a stroll through the largest traditional souk in Morocco, where you'll have the chance to see the wares of local artisans and shop for unique souvenirs. After a break for lunch, we'll visit the Koutoubia mosque, the largest in Marrakech, and the Majorelle garden, a beautiful botanical garden designed by French painter Jacques Majorelle. Before we head back to our accommodations, you'll have some free time to explore the famous Jemaa El-Fna square on your own.

After crossing the Atlas Mountains, we will be visiting the famous Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, "The gate of the desert" Ouarzazate, and other highlights along the way. On the fourth day of the tour, we will start the day with an early pickup from your accommodation in Marrakech, and head for the fascinating High Atlas mountains via the Tizi-N-Tichka pass. Our destination for the day is the famous Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, a fortified village that has been recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This historic site has been featured in many movies and TV series, including "Gladiator", "Alexander", "The Mummy", and "Game of Thrones". We'll have lunch at a local restaurant in the area and then continue our journey to Ouarzazate, "The gate of the desert". We'll have dinner and overnight in Ouarzazate and it will be a perfect end to a day filled with beautiful landscapes and rich culture. Day 5 of our 7-day desert tour from Fes will begin with an early pick-up from your hotel. We'll start the day by visiting one of Morocco's famous movie studios, where blockbuster films such as Gladiator, Alexander, and The Mummy were shot. Next, we'll make our way to the picturesque Rose Valley, home to the annual Rose Festival in May, where locals offer a variety of rose-based products.

Afterward, we'll venture to the Todra Gorges, a natural wonder created by the Todra river carving its way through the mountains, forming towering red cliffs. You'll have the opportunity to explore the gorges and take in the breathtaking landscape.

We'll then travel through Touroug, Tinjdad and Erfoud, before reaching the Sahara desert of Merzouga. Here, you'll have the chance to ride camels and cross the golden dunes, stopping at a high dune to witness the sunset. We'll then continue to the desert camp, where you can enjoy traditional Berber music and dance around the campfire under a star-studded sky. Dinner and overnight stay in the desert camp.

Wake up early to catch the stunning sunrise over the dunes, before enjoying a delicious breakfast. Then, hop on a camel and head back to Merzouga, where our driver will be waiting to take us to Rissani. This ancient capital of Tafilalet is a bustling trading center, with a lively souk on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays.

Next, we'll head to Erfoud to visit a workshop where you'll see the process of creating intricate designs from Tossilit marble. We'll then drive along the picturesque Ziz River and stop for a panoramic view of the valley. There will be free time for lunch in Midelt before we head to the Cedar Forest, home to the Barbary Macaques. Take a stroll through the forest and even feed the monkeys!

Finally, we'll make our way to Ifrane, known for its low temperatures and alpine-style houses. It's no wonder it's called the "Switzerland of Morocco"!
